Netservers GPL Software
This page lists the Netservers software available under the GNU General Public License and related open-source licenses.
Due to the nature of these licenses, this software is free for anybody to use, modify and distribute, provided that if they distribute it, they comply with the terms of the GPL.
The following software is currently available:
- PPTP client packet reordering (Docs), a fresh implementation of a simple packet queue, now integrated into pptpclient CVS.
- PPP DHCP client plugin (tarball) for IP address allocation by a DHCP server (based on udhcpd from Busybox.
- IPtables Byte Limit match, a patch against iptables 1.2.7a which adds support for matching packets at a certain data rate, and which can therefore be used for simple QoS (quality-of-service) control. (updated 22/Jan/2003)
- IPtables MAC/IP Pair match, a Patch-O-Matic patch set for Netfilter Patch-O-Matic which adds the ability to match large numbers of IP and MAC address pairs, to detect and prevent IP spoofing on large untrusted networks. (updated 08/Apr/2004)
- VRRPd Daemon Mode patch, which adds a -D option to VRRPd, causing it to close standard file descriptors and go into the background. The patch also cleans up some failures to null-terminate strings, and the formatting of the usage message.
This software is used in our FireRack firewalls. Due to its free nature, no official support is available without a support contract, but unofficially you can e-mail support@netservers.co.uk if you have comments, questions or suggestions, and we will do our best to help you, time permitting.
